"But if the Gospel be hid, it is hid to them that are lost.
In whom the god of this world (Satan) hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the Light of the glorious Gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them."
No one is good enough to go to Heaven on his own good works. No matter how much good we do, we will always come short.
(Romans 3:10, Romans 3:23, Isaiah 64:6 KJV)
"For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God." - Romans 3:23 KJV
Because of our sins, we deserve to go to Hell (second death).
(Romans 6:23, Revelation 20:14-15, Revelation 21:8 KJV)
"For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord." - Romans 6:23 KJV
"But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and ALL LIARS, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death." - Revelation 21:8 KJV
"But God commendeth His love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us." - Romans 5:8 KJV
(Romand 5:8, 1 John 2:2, John 3:15-16, Acts 2:31, 1 Cor 15:3-4, Romans 10:9 kJV)
"For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life." - John 3:16 KJV
"Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have (believed in vain)."
- 1 Corinthians 15:1-2 KJV
BELIEVED IN VAIN - means not being sincere; not genuine from the heart; not serious; without gravity; not having a repentant heart; not rooted in faith; not grounded in faith in Lord Jesus; not having a godly sorrow to have a repentant heart and resulting to attaining eternal salvation; resulting to a person not to be saved at all. Ex. false brethren, false christians, false converts, false teachers, false pastors, false preachers.
"Testifying both to the Jews, and also to the Greeks, repentance toward God, and faith toward our Lord Jesus Christ ."
- Acts 20:21 KJV
REPENTANCE - sincere regret or remorse of wrongdoing(sin); godly sorrow; repentant heart; desire to have a change of heart and a change of mind ; Our desire to REnew our heart and REnew mind (having the Mind of Christ) and now in line with the Bible (God's commandments) .
“For godly sorrow worketh repentance to salvation not to be repented of : but the sorrow of the world worketh death.”
- 2 Corinthians 7:10 KJV
COMMENTARY: "...godly sorrow worketh repentance..." means a "deep sincere internal realization" or in other words "it pierces our hearts" of all the wrongdoings we've done that are againsts men that are againsts God(sinning) and because of all our wrongdoings that we have commited here on earth it rewardeth as a punishment in hell for eternity. But because of this "deep sincere internal realization" we understood that we are in need of a Saviour to save us from our sins , and this is ONLY through our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ who suffered here on earth who did no sin for us (1 Peter 2:22) , and sacrificed His life for us in the cross in order for us to be saved from the punishment in hell for eternity.
While "not to be repented of" means that our turning away from our wrongdoings or evildoings WOULD NOT save us from our sin. But that doesnt mean we should continue to do wrongdoings. Having a godly sorrow means we understood that we've made a huge mistake before and that WE DESIRE(which is a continual lifetime process) to change and now to get right with God not to save us from our own sins BUT because we sincerely understood all the mistakes and wrongdoings(sins) we did in the past.
Please remember the DESIRE part which means this is NOT done overnight NOR is a one time change but rather this is a lifetime continual process of denying our sinful flesh, denying worldly lust, denying our foolish wisdom and by walking in spirit in the newness of life as becometh saints.
Hence the word "becometh saints" again which means it is a process. As we study the Word of God we learn to correct any of our wrongdoings that we've never known in the before that are againsts God. (See Ephesians 5:3 KJV, Romans 16:2 KJV)
Like what I always say:
We struggle as christians, so we may learn and grow in faith, always moving forward and not backwards .
UNDERSTAND:
REPENT - has two definitions first it means " to feel or express sincere regret of a wrongdoing " and second it could also means to turn away from doing something .
(Ex. "...God repented of the evil, that he had said that he would do unto them..." which can be found on Jonah 3:10 KJV)
REPENTANCE - sincere regret or remorse of wrongdoing(sin); godly sorrow; repentant heart; change of heart.
“Here is the patience of the saints : here are they that keep the commandments of God, and the faith of Jesus .”
- Revelation 14:12 KJV
"And the dragon was wroth with the woman, and went to make war with the remnant of her seed, which keep the commandments of God, and have the testimony of Jesus Christ .
- Revelation 12:17 KJV
Eternal life is a gift purchased by the blood of Jesus and offered freely to those who call upon Him by faith. Salvation is by believing in what Jesus did and not relying nor trusting on our good works to get us to Heaven.
(Ephesians 2:8-9, Matthew 7:21-23, John 3:15-16, John 3:36 KJV)
"For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:
Not of works, lest any man should boast." - Ephesians 2:8-9 KJV
Once we believed in our heart (true repentance of the heart) that Jesus Christ died on the cross, was buried, and rose again for our sins, God will give us His promise of eternal life, which means forever. We are sealed in Jesus Christ's hand and our Father's hand.
(Titus 1:2, John 10:28-29, Ephesians 1:13-14 KJV)
"In hope of eternal life, which God, that cannot lie, promised before the world began." - Titus 1:2 KJV
"And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of My hand.
My Father, which gave them Me, is greater than all; and no man is able to pluck them out of My Father's hand." John 10:28-29 KJV
Repentance:
- deep sorrow, compunction, or contrition for a past sin, wrongdoing, or the like.
- regret for any past action.
- to feel or show that you are sorry for something bad or wrong that we did.
Dear Jesus,
I know that I am a SINNER.
And I know I deserve to go to Hell because of MY SINS.
But I BELIEVE IN MY HEART that you died on the cross, was buried and rose again for my sins.
Please forgive me of all my sins, and please save me.
Please come in to my life, and please give me the gift of eternal life.
I'm NOT trusting in my own good works.
I'm NOT trusting in my religion.
I'm ONLY trusting in YOU to save me.
Please renew my heart and my mind with your wisdom, knowledge and understanding.
Please give me the thirst and hunger for your Words, to get to know you.
Please give me the discernment to filter our satan lies from the Biblical Truth.
And please humble me always and teach me to Fear you, Love you, Please you and Serve you.
Thank you for saving me.
In the name of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.
I pray. Amen.
Romans 10:9-10 KJV
That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart (sincerity/repentant heart/seriousness) that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.
For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.
One of the most Greatest love of all is by sharing the Gospel of Christ to other people to get them saved from going to Hell for eternity. God also says, if we really love Him we should obey His commandments.
(Matthew 22:36-40, Mark 16:15, Romans 1:16, John 14:12)
"Master, which is the great commandment in the law?
Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind.
This is the first and great commandment.
And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.
On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets." - Matthew 22:36-40 KJV
Now, let us ask ourselves:
Do we really love them if we let them go to Hell without sharing the Gospel of Christ to them?
Unfortunately, God already knew that MANY will end up in Hell and FEW will end up in Heaven. Now is the time to save those people you LOVE AND CARE ABOUT.
(Luke 13:23-24, Matthew 7:13-14)
"Then said one unto him, Lord, are there few that be saved? And he said unto them,
Strive to enter in at the strait gate: for many, I say unto you, will seek to enter in, and shall not be able." - Luke 13:23-24 KJV
God will reward us all our good works for serving Him.
(Matthew 16:27, Revelation 22:12 KJV)
"For the Son of man shall come in the glory of his Father with his angels; and then He shall reward every man according to his works." - Matthew 16:27 KJV
"Testifying both to the Jews, and also to the Greeks, repentance toward God, and faith toward our Lord Jesus Christ."
REPENTANCE - sincere regret or remorse of wrongdoing(sin); godly sorrow; repentant heart; a desire of change of heart and a change of mind now in line with what the Bible says(God's commandments).
“Here is the patience of the saints: here are they that keep the commandments of God, and the faith of Jesus.”
